We did three tours with Tora Tourist and were impressed with their friendliness, knowledge and pride of the Faroes. Karl, and Kristen were excellent guides and filled in background... read more to the many sights we saw. Our only disappointment was our visit to Mykines which was enveloped in fog for the whole day taking away our views. We can’t control the weather and we still loved the uniqueness of the Faroes. We would love to spend more time in the Faroes and wouldn’t hesitate to use Tora Tourist again to see the bits we missed.
I enjoyed the explanations of our young guide, Karl Marius, a very pleasant and knowledgeable young man. I enjoyed the facts he presented during the trip. Our group was small... read more but it was perfect for me.
We did a couple of trips with this company: one to Gasadalur with Karl as the guide, the other to Vestmanna cliffs, with Samal. Both were hugely enjoyable and well-run.... read more
The beauty of the Faroe Islands speaks for itself, and we were very fortunate with the weather, but as far as the service provided by this company goes, we had no complaints and would recommend them.
Sightseeing with Tora Tourist is a unique experience, both regarding nature and culture. We had booked 3 excursions and our guide Sámal was a great story teller who managed to... read more mix historical facts with interesting anecdotes. No need to drive yourselves, relax and let Tora Tourist guide you safely through the story of the Faroe Islands and the beautiful landscape. Highly recommendable.
We booked the tour "Experience the northern islands" and I have to say I think it is a rip- off for several reasons:
1. We spend from 9 to 13... read more in the south, stopping for pictures and to different stores. We didn't book a shoppin tour.
2. The lunch included was 2 small potatoes and a bit of fish.
3. The guide repeated himself several times, mostly speaking about tunnels...
4. Northern islands: just 2 stops and aftee lunch. When we arrived at Klaskvik he took us to the church for 30 minutes. We didn't have the chance to visit the port. The stop at Kunoy is 20 min long.
Never going to book a tour with this company again. Very expensive and low quality service. More
I went on a trip to the northern islands with that company today. Compare to the day trip i did before with another company that one was very lame. The... read more photo stops were a bit lame and the informations which were given also. The main stops itself were also on a low level of interest for me. One was just like selling station for products without any real information. So we ve spend to much time in a story listening to a product show.
But i noticed that the other (mostly elderly) costumers seems to be very happy with that tour. So i came to the conclusion that their trips are a good option for elderly people who wanna book a smooth tour without moving much. But for me it was not what i ve expected and quite boring.Maybe i had a wrong idea of that trip. I just got a little idea about the northern islands cause we ve spend too much time on low interesting stops. The description sounded way better than the real result :(
Unfortunately i ve booked another tour with them for tomorrow and it was too late to cancel it.
Furthermore the group was very large which gave me a bad feeling of nonindividual masstourism and the pick up was also a bit late. So all in all it depends on what u re looking for. If u dont wanna move yourself much and just wanna get drive around the islands this could be the right one for u. Also the communication with them was very nice and helpful. The guides are friendly and okay. The lunch was also okay. But at the end i am missing a real highlight here. Sorry :(
